In total, the Met logged a record setting 7.35 million visitors in its fiscal year, which ended on June 30. The record number of visitors eclipses some of the Met's best-known exhibitions, including Treasures of Tutankhamun (1978), which had 1,360,957 visitors, and Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty (2011), which had 661,509 visitors. (There were 1.43 million visitors to the exhibition in the Fifth avenue building and 228,737 to the Cloisters.)
